What is the most fun in your job?
Everything started in 2021 when I had the chance to participate to Space Studies Program at International Space University. It was my first real encounter with the Space Sector, with an incredible cohort coming from all over the world. I then understood that this career choice might be the good one for me.
I understood then that a multidisciplinary approach is the key for space nowadays. For example, when you send a capsule to low orbit, it's strategic to understand the science applications and the geopolitics implications of what you are doing.
It's sometimes easy to forget, but space is perceived as something quite extraordinary by the public. In the end, we do this job because its humanistic outcomes can be so huge.
How does your specific non-tech discipline or expertise add value to your organization?
You know, I'm not coming from the space sector as I worked 15 years at Apple in sales and tech positions. The customer service there was really strong, with a strong sense that technology should have an impact on the world. I believe that the skills I gained there help me to differentiate ATMOS from competitor by offering a customer centric approach and a taste for partnerships.
All I do is putting people together: partners like launch companies or payload providers, creative people and entrepreneurs. Something with such complexity like space can not entirely be done by one entity. We need to have the world on our side!
What is the most fun in your job?
So many things! Having the opportunity to learn something new every day is a chance, in diverse fields like biology, material, business or of course rocket science.
But the funniest part is that we are creating a new market as no one really democratised access to space and back before. Applications like space manufacturing or science experiments are a new field for private companies and it's amazing to have the opportunity to be a part of it.
And lets face it: sending a capsule to space and attending an atmospheric re-entry is without any doubt the coolest thing on Earth!
